• What is FairyLoot?
FairyLoot is a fantasy focused Young Adult fiction monthly subscription box. In this box, you will receive one recently published Young Adult fantasy book and bookish goodies related to the book's theme.
• How do your subscriptions work?
We currently have the option to buy a single box or buy prepaid subscriptions of 3 and 6 months. These automatically renew. You will only be billed on the 1st of each month. We also offer single purchases that do not automatically renew. Please make sure you have a read through our subscription guide, it explains everything you need to know about our subscriptions.
• Should I subscribe or buy a single purchase?
Every month we have a limited amount of boxes and they often sell out quickly. If you are subscribed, it means your spot is secured every month and you don't need to worry about missing out. If you want to skip a month, you will need to cancel your subscription, and if you want to resubscribe you will need to start a new subscription.
If you purchase single purchases, you can pick and choose which themes you are interested in and don't have payments automatically renewing. This does mean that if the boxes sell out you may miss a chance to grab one.
Both methods are great, and it's totally up to you what you prefer and are more comfortable with! Please make sure you have a read through our subscription and single purchase guide, it explains everything you need to know in depth.
• If I'm subscribed can I skip a month?
At this time, you cannot skip a month but you can cancel anytime. You can do this under your account settings. If you would like to resubscribe, you will need to order a new subscription here. If you only want to purchase boxes based on the theme, we suggest you purchase single purchases instead of a subscription, that way you can pick and choose.
• WHEN CAN I SIGN UP?
We announce through our website, newsletter and social media (make sure you follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) when our next box is going to be available. You can sign up on that day, and the latest you can sign up/purchase a box is on the 14th of each month or until stock lasts. We have a limited number of boxes each month so we recommend ordering sooner rather than later as once we sell out it is not possible for us to restock.
• WHAT IS A 'THEME'?
Each month, a theme for the box will be released to give you a hint as to what the book will be about or related to. The items in the box will correlate with the theme.
• WHAT AGES IS FAIRYLOOT SUITABLE FOR?
Our boxes feature Young Adult and mature Young Adult books, so most of our titles are suitable for ages 14 up and you're never to old to enjoy FairyLoot!
INSIDE THE BOX
• What can I expect in the box?
Each box will have one recently published Young Adult book, 4-6 goodies often related to the book, promotional items such as posters, bookmarks and a signed bookplate (whenever possible). We also include a unique hashtag that links you up with one other person receiving a box, which you can use to connect with them and buddy read the featured book together. Our boxes are lovingly packed and sprinkled with fairy dust every time.
• What kind of book will it be?
Our box focuses exclusively on fantasy and the book will usually be a hardcover copy. It will follow the theme of the month and it will be either be a first book in a series or a standalone story (we don't choose any books that are sequels). We spend a lot of time selecting our books in advance to make sure they are the very best of the best.
• What if I already own the book?
We only send books that have been published within the last 5 weeks of the dispatch date, so it is quite unlikely you will already have it. Unfortunately, if you do happen to have the book, we do not offer refunds at this time.
• What have the previous boxes included?
Our box always includes a book, and the items that accompany it are items like toys, candles, soaps, bookmarks, mini posters, notebooks, socks, jewellery - anything, really! We like to mix it up every month. You can check out what our previous boxes have included here.
• How are the books and goodies chosen?
All of the books and goodies are hand selected by Anissa (a blogger at She Reads Too Much) who founded FairyLoot. She will make sure that the book will be a special read and that all the goodies will match the theme of the book perfectly, giving you a unique experience.
BILLING, COST, PAYMENT, PRICING
• How much does FairyLoot cost?
All of our prices are in British Pound Sterling (GBP), please make sure you check how much that is in your own currency. All countries in the European Union also have VAT charged.
• When will the payment be deducted from my account?
Payments are only deducted on the 1st of the month. If you have subscribed to a monthly plan, you will have the amount deducted every month on the 1st of the month. If you subscribe to a 3 month plan, it will be deducted quarterly on the 1st of the month. If you subscribe to a 6 month plan, it will be deducted twice a year on the 1st of the month.
Please make sure you have the balance available on the 1st of each month as if the payment doesn't go through you risk losing your spot.
• Can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime in your account settings.
• Can I purchase a box without automatic renewal?
Absolutely! You can grab a single purchase box that doesn't automatically renew here.
• What payment methods do you offer?
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards through out website for both subscriptions and single purchases. We also accept PayPal payments upon checkout but only for single purchases, just select the PayPal option.
• Can I pay using PayPal?
Yes! You can pay using PayPal in our normal checkout, just select the PayPal option. We currently only offer PayPal for single purchases, subscriptions must be purchased using debit/credit cards.
• Does FairyLoot ship internationally?
YES! We want to spread our fairy magic around the world. You can find out more about our shipping in our Shipping Guidelines.
• How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated upon checkout and varies by location. You can find out more about our shipping prices in our Shipping Guidelines.
• When are the boxes shipped?
The boxes are shipped on the 20th-25th of every month. If we can get them sent out to you sooner we will (we always try our best to get them sent out as soon as we can).
• Can I have my box shipped to a P.O. box?
Yes, of course! However, please note that we cannot send boxes on a tracked service to P.O. boxes, which means that your box will likely be slightly slower to reach you.
• Is the shipping tracked?
We have tracked shipping to 25 countries within Europe, and have untracked and tracked shipping options for multiple countries International. For more information please read our Shipping Guidelines.
• Will I have to pay customs charges?
If you are ordering from outside of the United Kingdom and the European Union, it is possible that you may be subject to paying customs fees, although this is not likely. The only country we are currently aware of charging customs fees is Canada.
• What is the difference between Untracked and Tracked shipping?
With Tracked Shipping, you will get a separate email with a tracking number that allows you to track your box very step of the way, and it usually means you will receive your box faster. Your box will also be fully insured. With Standard Untracked Shipping, you will not receive a tracking number and is often slower and if your box is undelivered or lost in the post we do not offer any compensation/refunds. We always recommend selecting Tracked Shipping if it is available. Find out what options you have in our Shipping Guidelines.
• What can I expect with Tracked shipping?
For most countries we only offer tracked shipping, however, for some countries we give you the option to either tracked or untracked shipping but we always recommend tracked shipping. You can find the prices and options in our shipping guidelines. Please note that we cannot send boxes to a PO address on a tracked service, so it's better if you put a home/work address.
On a tracked service, you will receive an email with a tracking number and if anything happens to your box you will be fully covered and your box is insured. Usually on a tracked service boxes take 1-3 weeks to reach you, but unfortunately if they get delayed through customs it can take up to 3-4 weeks and it is something out of our control.
• What can I expect with Untracked shipping?
On a standard shipping service, your box will be untracked so you will not receive a tracking number. We offer tracked shipping for most locations, and we always recommend tracked shipping over untracked shipping. You can find the prices and options in our shipping guidelines.
On a standard untracked service, you can expect your box to arrive between 2-4 weeks and your box is not insured. As your box is not insured and has no tracking we do not offer any refunds or compensation if the box is undelivered or lost in the mail. In the event of any damages of items within the box, we take every case on a case by case basis.
• When will my box arrive?
It depends on where the box is being shipped to - within the UK it should be around 2 or 3 days from shipping. If you are outside of the UK, it can take 1-4 weeks.
• I am subscribed, can I change my delivery address?
You can change your address in your My Account page. It is your responsibility to make sure that your shipping address is up to date and that someone will be available to pick up the box when it is delivered. If you have moved or made any changes to your address, you will need to update this in your account settings by the 27th of the month before. This is because subscriptions get renewed on the 1st and if you don't change your address before the renewal date it will renew using your old address. Please note that if you move to a different country your shipping fee may be subject to change. When you update you address, please make sure you tick the box that says "Update the shipping used for all of my shipping subscriptions" as shown in the image below:

• I have a 3 month/6 month prepaid subscription, can I change my address?
You cannot change your shipping address through your account for 3 month or 6 month subscriptions, but our team can change it for you. This is because your address will only change when your subscription renews, so during those months it will not update. We can easily change it for you if you get in touch with order support but you must get in touch with them before the 1st of the month (so if you purchased the November box, you will need to let us know before November 1st).
• I have a single purchase, can I change my address?
You cannot change your shipping address through your account for single purchases, but our team can change it for you. We can easily change it for you if you get in touch with order support but you must get in touch with them before the 1st of the shipping month (so if you purchased the November box, you will need to let us know before November 1st).
The reason for this is if you update your address in your account it will not carry through to your single purchase order.
• I am moving country, will my shipping fees change?
Most likely they will - you can check our shipping rates in our shipping guidelines. If you have a subscription and pay by debit/credit card, your shipping fee will be automatically changed. If you use PayPal to pay for your subscription you will need to manually change your shipping fees. This is very important, because if you do not change to the correct shipping fees your box will not be sent to you. Please see the next question for details on how to change your address.
RETURNS AND SUPPORT
• Can I return or exchange the box I received?
At this time we do not offer any returns on exchanges for our products, unless they are damaged.
• One of the items in my box was missing, what do I do?
If this happens please use our order support form and we'll get one sent out to you immediately!
• One of the items in my box was broken/damaged, what do I do?
Please use our order support form and we'll get back to you and arrange for a replacement to be sent out.
• Can I cancel a purchase?
A cancellation with a refund can be requested using our order support form, but only if your order has not shipped and will incur a £3.50 administration fee.

• I want to review your box on my blog/YouTube/Instagram! Can you send me one for free?
Thanks so much for your interest in FairyLoot! We send out a very limited number of "free" boxes to a careful selection of people who love to share their love for our box. • I am an author, how do I get my book featured in your box?
If you write YA or YA Crossover fantasy, and your book will be published in hardcover please use our business enquiry form and select "SUPPLIER/VENDOR". Please note that we plan our boxes 6 months in advance, so if you are contacting us about your book it should be 6 months before it's publication date. Due to the high volume of emails we can't get back to everyone. Thanks for your understanding!
