Book Damage Criteria

We check all items to make sure they are correct and in perfect condition before shipping them. However, if you receive the wrong item or if the item was received with damage, we will replace the item with a new one. You can find our book damage criteria below:

Damage Type	Hardcover
All measures are in millimeters (mm).
Clearly visible dents	20 mm
Crushed edge or corner	20 mm
Creased dust jacket	20 mm
Bent pages	more than 1 page and more than 20 mm
Misaligned sprayed edges	5mm or more from centre
Misaligned dust jacket design	5mm or more from alignment

✓ The following DO qualify as damage	✖︎ But these DON'T qualify as damage
Cut/Torn	Light scratches
Sticky residue that can't be removed	Shelf wear - minor dulling/fading
Parts/Pages missing	Dust Jacket - minimal creasing (see above)
Punctured through to the hardcover	White spots - small areas of colour missing
Water damaged	Wavy Pages
Very blurry stencilled sprayed edges	Slightly blurry stencilled sprayed edges
Very faded foiling	Slightly faded foiling
Heavy creasing due to incorrectly folded jackets	Loose dust jackets
	Minor scuffing on the edge

Please note, due to differences in materials and manufacturing, some books may feature variations that do not qualify as damage.

This can include, but is not limited to:

Metallic dust jackets being more prone to light scratches
Paint on sprayed edges (especially dark colours) may show paper variation/manufacturing and shelf wear
Tip-ins being slightly misaligned

The above criteria is a general guidance, however, every ticket will be manually reviewed by our Customer Support Team and all replacements will be at the discretion of our Customer Support Team.

Please note that we can only accept damage/missing item claims within 14 days from the date you received your order. If you wish to report an issue, please visit open a support ticket. We will usually respond within 2-3 business days.
